Invitation
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to FATS-O-MICS: Workshop on Food Lipids and Lipidomics for Health, Nutrition, and Sustainability, a Euro Fed Lipids Workshop that aims at bringing novel insights and addressing emerging challenges in the exciting field of food lipids and lipidomics, with a vision for healthier diets and a more sustainable future.
This event will be hosted at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in the beautiful coastal city of Aveiro, known for its excellence in research and education, and for its strong tradition of scientific innovation, cultural richness, and connection to the sea.
This meeting brings together a diverse community of scientists, young researchers, stakeholders, and industry experts united by a shared commitment to deepen our comprehension of the role of lipids in food quality, traceability, nutrition, health and sustainability.
Throughout the event, we will explore key topics such as:
These topics will be considered in the workshop sessions
Session 1: Analytical Challenges in the Diversity of Food Lipids
Session 2: Food Lipids and Lipidomics: From Molecules to Nutrition and Health Insights
Session 3: Lipids and lipidomic in Food Quality, Safety & Traceability
Session 4: Alternative and new sources of lipids, sustainability and future directions
These challenges are both technical and strategic, requiring interdisciplinary approaches that combine analytical chemistry, food science, nutrition, biotechnology, and data science. We hope the discussions at this meeting will open new avenues for innovation and collaboration.
We are honored by your presence, from established experts to emerging talents and young researchers, all committed to contributing to healthier, more sustainable, and fairer food systems.
Welcome to Aveiro. Welcome to this forum of scientific excellence and shared purpose.
