The Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery (TüCAD₂), founded 2012, is part of the University’s excellence strategy. TüCAD₂ is closely connected to the Excellence Cluster iFIT, ICEPHA (Interfaculty Center for Pharmacogenomics) and recently to NCT-SW (Nationales Zentrum für Tumorerkrankungen-SüdWest) and focus on pharmacological validation of genetically identified targets. The strong translational focus brought four compounds until now “first into human”. As a graduate/postgraduate teaching aspect, TüCAD₂ organizes since 2019 a curriculum covering advanced medchem, preclinical development and fundraising aspects. As a new format, we will start now with a one-day event with case studies, presented by eminent drug discovery experts from both industry and academia.
