VCW: Circular Economy

Idealistic vision, regulatory nightmare or your next big opportunity?

A circular economy (CE) aims for efficiency in resource utilization, material recovery and waste minimization to evolve economic, environmental and social benefit. Exploring new business models beyond the conventional model of linear product production and distribution, a reach to further dimensions and a focus on growth in every link of the value chain are necessary.

The CE model requires a re-thinking and re-designing process of common business structures and a shift towards renewable resources and energy. With the aid of target-oriented collaborative networks and favorable public policies, a long-term improvement towards a cradle to cradle model and economic opportunities based on innovation can be achieved.

Advanced digital technologies are able to support this change by virtualization and improvement of the demanded transparency of resource life cycles.

The VCW conference will discuss the implications of the Circular Economy for companies in the chemical industry. More than 100 decision makers from companies in the chemical industry and related industries are expected.
