27. Lecture Conference on Photochemistry will be organized as an online meeting
September 14-15, 2020

The conference brings together leading international and national scientists to present and to discuss the latest results on hot topics of photochemistry- and photophysics-related research.

We cordially invite you to join us for stimulating discussions on interdisciplinary research touching reaction mechanisms, synthesis and modern spectroscopy.

Due to international travel restrictions and local regulations related to the corona pandemic the board of the German chemical society (GDCh) cancelled all in-person events in 2020.

Confronted with this decision and in view of the two options either to postpone the "27th Lecture Conference on Photochemistry 2020" by two years to 2022, or to organize our meeting as an online video conference, we decided for the latter alternative.

The "27th Lecture Conference on Photochemistry 2020" will take place on 14. Sept. and 15. Sept. 2020 in online video format. We have already been able to attract well-known speakers for this online event. The lecture program will be organized from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It includes plenary lectures, short lectures, award ceremonies and a poster session. In addition, there will be online discussions after the lectures and discussions in live chat forums with instant access to fellow attendees, speakers and exhibitors.

Virtual conferences cannot replace the personal face-to-face experience; however, we are sure that our format will attract a larger audience, including people who may not have been able to attend the physical conference. In particular, our meeting will provide networking opportunities for graduate students, postdocs and early career scientists and it will remove barriers between established researchers and young scientists.

The deadlines for the submission of abstracts for conference contributions and for registration remain. The conference fee will be 40 EUR. For PhD students: 20 EUR; Students without a master's degree: 10 EUR; retired: free.

All further details on the new conference format will be announced on this website in due course.
